Andrew Bell received his degrees in Classics from Oxford and Stanford. He is the author of Spectacular Power in the Greek and Roman City (Oxford University Press 2004; paperback edition 2006). He teaches HIST 100 Citizens and Slaves (which meets the US and Nevada Constitutions requirements) and HIST 105 (European Civilization to 1648); at the upper-division level, he teaches Greek Civilization, Roman Civilization, Great Personalities, and topics courses on ancient religion and social status.
