Eugene Moehring is professor of history. He received his Ph.D. in 1976 from the City University of New York and his B.A. (1968) and M.A. (1970) in history from Queens College. A specialist in urban history, he also taught courses in business history, the U.S. since 1920, Nevada history, and the history of science.

In addition to numerous journal articles and book chapters, he has published five books: Public Works and the Patterns of Urban Real Estate Growth in Manhattan, 1835-1894, Resort City in the Sunbelt: Las Vegas, 1930-2000, Urbanism and Empire in the Far West, 1840-1890, A Centennial History of Las Vegas with Michael Green, and The University of Nevada, Las Vegas: A History.
